Teacher Kills 12 year Old Pupil


A 12-year-old pupil in a  secondary school in Awka, Anambra State, has been flogged to death by a teacher. Chidimma Ukachukwu, the student died after she was allegedly  flogged  by her teacher for failing to do her homework.According to a reliable source the girl died on Thursday last week after she was flogged.Full story...

UNIPORT 4: Policeman Joined in the Beating - Suspect

CONTRARY to claims that policemen were not present at the execution scene of the four University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) students in Umuokiri-Aluu community about one and a half weeks ago, one of the arrested suspects has placed a policeman among the executioners.One of the 13 suspects paraded to journalists in Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, David Ugbaje, while answering questions from journalists, said he saw two policemen, one of who joined in beating the victims.According to him, he was told the victims were robbers and that they were going to rob at 9, Coca Cola Street, Umuo-kiri-Aluu, which happened to be his compound.

‘Slain Banker Sustained 76 Stab Wounds’

 RENOWNED pathologist, Prof. John Oladapo Obafunwa yesterday told a Lagos High Court, Ikeja, presided by Justice Lateefat Okunnu, that about 76 stab wounds were identified on the body of a former Skye Bank worker, Titilayo Omozoje, who was allegedly murdered by her husband on June 24, 2011.Obafunwa, a principal prosecution witness in the ongoing murder trial of a youth pastor, Akolade Arowolo over the death of his wife, Omozoje in his testimony, stated that during the autopsy, he discovered that the late banker had a minimum of 76 stab wounds inflicted on her by someone.Full story...

Boy, 19, Stabbed To Death In Bayelsa

Gunmen Kill Two Policemen

UNIDENTIFIED gunmen yesterday killed two policemen who were on foot patrol along Afikpo Street in Mile One Diobu, Port Harcourt.It was learnt that the armed men suddenly opened fire on the policemen who never anticipated any attack, killing them on the spot.The incident which occurred at about 6 a.m. on  Wednesday caused pandemonium in the area as residents scampered for safety. Full story...

Gunmen Kill Nigeria Justice Commissioner

Police Arrest Suspect With Slain Cynthia Osokogu’s Phone

ANOTHER suspect was yesterday arrested by Lagos State Police command over the death of Cynthia Osokogu as he was in possession of the late Cynthia’s Blackberry Bold 5 (99100Model) telephone.Lagos State Police Commissioner, Alhaji Umar Manko  told The Guardian that  detectives traced the suspect, Nonso Ezike, a graduate of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Federal University of Science and Technology (FUTO), Owerri and a relative of one of the alleged killers, Chidera Ezike, paraded by the police recently in Port Harcourt where he was nabbed and brought to Lagos. Full story...

ACN decries police, SSS tussle over Oyerinde’s murder


CITING indiscipline, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has described as a national embarrassment the bickering and power tussle between the police and the State Security Services (SSS) over investigations into the killing of Olaitan Oyerinde, the Principal Private Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State.In a statement issued in Lagos yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the ACN decried a situation in which one week after the police had paraded some suspects in relation to the murder, the SSS brought yet another group of suspects for the same crime.

Gunmen Kill CBN Ex-Official in Owerri

GUNMEN at the weekend  killed  a retired senior official of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). He was shot in front of the New Market, Douglas Road, Owerri. He was later confirmed dead at the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, where he had been taken to for treatment.The hoodlums also abducted his wife from the Peugeot 407 saloon car they were riding in and was dumped somewhere. Osokogu’s Murder: Group Decries NCC’s Improper Regulatory Control
