The House of Representatives special adhoc committee on the review of the 1999 Constitution has concluded arrangement for the flag-off of the Peoples’ Public Sessions on the review of the 1999 Constitution in the 360 federal constituencies in the country.A statement by Oke Epia, the spokesman for the committee chairman and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Emeka Ihedioha, quoted Ihedioha as saying that 21 most important items have been shortlisted as priorities in the ongoing process. Full story...

No Corpse Washed Off Morgues in Delta Floods –Govt

Delta State government, on Sunday, refuted a report that corpses were washed away from the mortuary of the General Hospital, Patani, by a flood and described the report as false and mischievous.The government said in a statement that although Patani was one of the communities affected by the flood in the state, only the entrance of the hospital was flooded.The statement, signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr Chike Ogeah, described the report on the flooding of hospital morgue as false. Full story...

A 12-year-old pupil in a  secondary school in Awka, Anambra State, has been flogged to death by a teacher. Revealed: How Land-Grabbing Legislators Schemed Out Abuja Estate Owners!

Street Journal’s findings have revealed that at least one quarter of the land at hitherto occupied by privately owned estates on the Airport Road, Lugbe, Abuja has been allocated to members of the National Assembly. Not less than 500 out of the 3, 000 plots of land have been allocated to Senators and Members of the House of Representatives.Findings however revealed that back in 2004, the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) sold the land to Nigerians who were interested in developing residential estates to ease the problem of accommodation in the Federal Capital. Full story...
